Is that shocking?

For the first time ever, the next civil or federal election is one that I will be able to vote in.

Have you exercised your right to vote? If not...why not?

It's a shame that people take their right to vote for granted.

No, it's not shocking. But very disappointing.

I have voted in every federal, provincial and municipal election since I was old enough to vote.

Sometimes more than once!

I've been voting ever since they gave me the go ahead;)

I can't bitch if I don't vote.

Actually, I have never been granted the right to vote. I have been an American citizen living in Canada since I was 7. That grants me all the privileges of a Canadian citizen except the right to vote. Also...because I was living in Canada, I was never eligible in the US.

In two hours...that all changes. Watch out during the next election!! :)

What She said

I am proud to say that I have never missed a chance to vote...

Now I just need to vote for someone who actually wins:)

In my now 16 years of voting..only once has a person who I voted for in an mayoral or National election ever won.

So I get to Bitch alot:p

Wasn't referring to you per se, however, as an American living in Canada, or anywhere else outside of the U.S., you could have voted using an absentee ballot.

No..actually in my case, I couldn't. I have never lived in the US long enough to qualify. :)

...does voting still work in the US? I mean...judging from the last election...

Yo. In prison, they must have been having secret elections the whole time I was there. Occasionally, someone would be elected as new head of the cellblock, and there was also head of the black market and head assigner of chores. I once told the head of the cellblock that I would like to run for a position. He replied, " Well didn't you know Sukit, you were elected head giver," I was quite taken aback, I hadn't even had time to compose an acceptance speech. I never did figure out what my job was, but I sure hope I left my office in good condition for my successor upon my parole.

I'm 24, &, I've never voted. Politics just never really interested me.

i used to get stoned and then work for the Republican Headquarters and ask certain voters to repeat their names over and over and over again. not because i thought it was funny, but because i was stoned and had to highlight their names with a yellow highlighter that smelled like Bounce fabric softener.

I voted in the last gubernatorial race in the state in MA, but Romney won anyhow. Now everyone's crying about how he's running everything into the ground. Not me, though. I did my part and then left the state at a most opportune time.

I didn't vote in the 2000 presidential race. In my opinion, there weren't any candidates worth voting for, and the presidential electoral process in it's current incarnation is prone to corruption and bias - which ended up being illustrated quite well.

Breaky....I didn't know you live in Texas! *grin* Shoot, here in Texas you can vote even if you're dead, as well as voting multiple times per election!

Now I know why Canadians are so poorly served politically. Get in there and vote!

WoooHooo Mia, 41 years of being able to do something else on voteing day :D

Mr. beatch! Thanks for that laugh.

I've exercised my right in all major federal & most major local elections.

I was given a break from voting 9 years ago and had to petition the courts to get my rights back.

They gave them back.. now I'm free to vote. :)
