I’m so old I remember…

I remember having milk delivered, also remember the birds pecking through the thin metal tops and drinking the cream.
I remember going to the farm in our village and getting fresh milk before it was sent off in churns

ISOIR grandpa milking the cows and carrying the metal milk bucket into the house where grandma had already baked a loaf of bread.

I remember that, it was about a couple of days before my first and only Rubik's cube went in the bin, never had any sticking power.

Im so old i remember the constables(police) going around the pubs on the weekend

Things I remember:

Sitting in the back of my mom's station wagon without a seat belt. I also remember mom's 1967 Chrysler Town & Country station wagon with a 440 6-pack blowing the doors off of some kid's Mustang at a traffic light.

Tin cups as measuring cups.

The banana seat on my first bike. It was a Huffy.

My father getting a .22 bolt action rifle in the mail.

The neighbor's 1970's van with a custom paint job on the side.

Trusting the police.

Actually learning how to read, write, and compute in school.

When Washington and Lincoln had their own holidays.

Revere Ware copper bottomed pots and pans.

Actual silverware. Sterling silver and not that silver plated shit.

Men who had fought in World War One.

My dad using DDT and chlordane to kill bugs around the house.

The barrel in our back yard where we burned our trash.

Going to the butcher shop for meat, the produce shop for veggies, and the bakery for bread.

The veggies used to go in a paper bag and not a plastic bag.

Learning how to write cursive with the Palmer Method.

Plaid pants.
