I’m so old I remember…

Well the one thing I will never forget as I’m so old my brothers made me hold and move the rabbit ears so they could see faint images of the hockey game on Saturday nights hockey night in Canada. Yes I was the youngest and my parents let my brothers make me do everything including being the goalie. Lol. That’s when parents said it builds character. Got the strap in grade 3 and I was more afraid of going home and having to tell my mom then I was of the strap. She wouldn’t go to the school and try to sue them as she made us accountable for our actions. Any ways to many great memories.

Drive-in double features that showed the main feature again after the second. Great times!

I go further back than you and l don't remember it ever being legal to drink in high school.
The U.S. set a national minimum alcohol purchase age of 21 in 1984 so a percentage of students reached that age before graduating for various reasons.

I was in high school and college in the 1970s. In Oklahoma, where I went to high school, and Kansas and North Carolina, where I went to college, the legal age for drinking beer was 18. I actually drank illegally in high school because I graduated at 17. However, most kids turn 18 before graduation and a few of my classmates were already 19. Needless to say, it was never hard to get alcohol for a party. I also tended bar in North Carolina at the age of 20.

Also… the Beatles and Michael Jackson live on the Ed Sullivan show.

We’re going to have a really big shoooo

Went to the 1939 NY Worlds Fair, I was 5...My parent took me into a GE show on electric and the guy shot what looked like a streak of lightening across the stage and scared the shit outta me! Thats all I remember, oh that and it was the first time I saw an escalator...and I may have said all of this here before, I can't remember

Battersea Fun Fair. Helmet laws coming in. My old Mobylette moped. Flares. Soooo many memories 😊
Back in the seventies we had a large room full of stuff that had been bought by my parents in clearance sales, there was a lambretta in there which had been there for a year or so. I tried to start it and it started first time, then I couldn’t work out how to stop it. The room filled with exhaust and I eventually stalled it, thought fuck I won’t do that again lol
