So a vaccine for the Wuhan Flu is allegedly to be out by Nov. 1st. And the list of those scheduled to receive the first vaccines are the usual crowd, medical staff, caregivers, etc.

Now for the hypothetical;

You're a RN and are scheduled to receive the vaccine. Along with the vaccine you have to sign a letter of indemnification and oh by the way, if you refuse the vaccine.............You're Fired.

What are you going to do?

.

If there is reason to believe that the vaccine wasn't properly vetted then hospitals would be facing an open rebellion from their staff.

A major work action by hospital workers during a pandemic wouldn't be a good look for the healthcare industry.

Nothing at all fishy about that!

There is not going to be a vaccine that is proven to be both safe and effective before the end of the year. People in medicine will understand that better than most.

Not give it a thought at all and get the vaccine asap...why, because the vast majority of us are not living in a cave or under a rock with a distrust for everything and everyone. We are a part of the USA, we don't view it as an enemy that's deceiving us.

Why bother answering when your first sentence is wrong?

You folks sure are damn short on reading comprehension. First off I referenced the possibility of a vaccine being out as early as Nov. as "alleged." Further, for the purposes of the scenario it doesn't matter when the damned vaccine comes out.

Who “alleged” it? President Trump? The CDC did not allege it.

The CDC yesterday directed states to prepare for their distribution of a vaccine on November 1.

This is from the same CDC that changed testing guidelines two weeks ago to lessen the imperative for testing that continues to yield infection rates that continue to make the Trump Administration look bad.

My read on it's a headfake designed to pacify low-information voters who may be increasingly doubting that Trump has the pandemic under control as recent polling suggests. What's better for the President's reelection chances than voters going into Election Day with the thought that he's got the virus under control?

Turns out that Ish's "theoretical" has been implemented in China since July on members of its military, frontline medical professionals, and border inspectors with its homegrown vaccine, and will be in Russia with its vaccine candidate starting next month.

I'm guessing that informed consent isn't a priority when as Phase 3 is conducted by a totalitarian regime.

Boy are you short on understanding how hypotheticals work.

YOU set the hypothetical date, which will obviously affect how people respond, comsidering the potential for political gain it presents.

YOU then ask people to disregard the most important factor in YOUR hypothetical, ignoring the fact that for the vaccine to be available for distribution by Nov. 1 there is a high probability that corners have been cut to facilitate the accelerated development and rollout of the vaccine.

YOU then attack people responding to the hypothetical with the parameters YOU set.

Wow, just, wow.

I didn't know they had extended cocktail hours in Russia. I thought it was 24/7 365

Currently, I would not take a new vaccination before election day. it can wait until after. Awhile after.

If I'm a hot Nurse, I'll probably start an AmPics thread.

If I'm not hot, I'll start a "fuck or pass" thread on the Playground.
