Calls from NZ to the USA are very cheap compared to the other way round. But I have been told a US$10 phonecard would last about 2 hours to call NZ.

1000 minute card is a bit over 34.00

For that $34 you can talk international to NZ for quite a long time (I think its something like 7 hours). Works real well.
