Kinda with you on this one, but for different reasons.
From what I read: they said that many voted for him because of the color of his skin - out of hope that he might empathize with the 'little guy'. But in fact, it turned out to be quite the opposite:
A look at his education and biography, and his political choices before election
showed that he pretty much identifies himself as upper class, and that his loyalty lies with the rich and corporate interests. TPP is a perfect example of this.
