Where in god's name did that phrase come from?

What about other phrases like "hurts like a bitch" etc?

Anyone know the origins? Anyone have some good examples?

i don't think someone who would fuck a mother would be very sweet and tender....thus the pain aspect of the phrase or ill feeling....

Maybe it came form the pain the 'mother fucker' experienced when the mother became a mother. :)

I have friends who are mothers and they get fucked regularly and quite nicely from what they say....

Anything that's described as "like a motherfucker" confuses me to no end. Recently I heard someone say as they walked into a room, "It's hotter than a motherfucker in here!" I wanted to say, "And how hot would that be, exactly?"

I would think that something that hurts like a motherfucker/bitch/whatever probably just came from someone saying "That motherfucker hurt!"

Oh well, I don't know. I just posted so I could say "motherfucker" four times in this post. Wait, that last one makes five. :D

Hurts like a MotherFucker
That would mean the Fucker that fucked the mother hurts.
Now would that be that the Fucker has a sore somewhere or does it mean the fucker that fucked the mother hurt the mother?

Hmmmm say that 10 times;)

it's just like that.

There are a ton of slang terms that have no origin. Some just derive from other phrases with no origin :) It's all really funny in the end.

We're just silly humans that lik ehaving creative and neat things to say. It just makes conversation more fun.

One has to remember that if mothers didn't get fucked none of us would be here.:p

I wouldn't say "Hurts like a ____" is old enough or even particular enough to "come from" anywhere. I could see several people coming up with that at the same time.

Damn, it's later than a motherfucker up in this bitch.

Now if someone could tell me where "up in this bitch" came from, that would require some serious linguistic research.

One has to wonder if "hurting like a bitch" hurts more than "hurting like a sonuva bitch"

Something to ponder over...

Ok, this isn't about the motherfucker whick actually all fathers are;) Thank goodness.

How about the phrase........ "Let's play it by EAR and SEE how it goes? I mean, HELLO! That has never made sense to me:confused:

HOW ABOUT.................

Clean as hell: How do you know how clean hell is? And if it's that clean, why do we not want to go there?

Go to hell: Okay, where's my one-way ticket and do they have satellite TV there?

Give 'em hell: If you don't have hell, how can you give it?

Get the hell outta here: Now that's a good one. First we're told to go there but now we're told to get it out.

I never understood "Sweat Like A Pig" I DO think wallowing in the mud, however, would be a more fun way of cooling off than sweating.

I like the term "The whole nine yards" The ammo belts on old fighter planes were 9 yards long. so to REALLY over-do something became "I gave it the whole 9 yards"
