Hurricane Kyle? Watch out, Maine residents!

That shouldn't be too bad, minus the downed trees and possible interrupted power. The coast there is pretty steep so the storm surge shouldn't cause them too much grief and given their winters? Seventy-five mph winds are a cake walk. Just watch for the flying limbs, you guys. Yeah, MistressLynn, that means you! :D

Some friends in Onset, MA (South end of CC canal) have a picture of a boat in their cottage living room from a hurricane in the mid 50's
I went right through the picture window and did no other damage (except the crushed coffee table). Minor rain water damage.
The Dad was an insurance agent and didn't bother to submit a claim as the deductable covered it. :D

Having just gone through a hurricane I wish them all the best. Hopefully it won't get worse before it hits and the damage will be minimal.

My mother, her siblings and my grandmother rode out the Great Hurricane of 1938 in Providence, RI. I mean they had no clue it was coming, no one did. It pushed the Providence River backwards and swamped downtown. Of the hundreds of beach cottages on the shore and on Block Island...there was scarcely a trace.

Good luck to the folks in Maine. :rose:

The problem is that none of the beach cottages up there are built for that :(
It won't take much for major damage to occur :(

Got friends out that way. I'll check to see if they know.

Two of my NC Aunts used to own cottages in Onset, MA. :D
That's how I know a bit, we were there every even numbered summer in the 60's and half the 70's. :D
I used to stay with the friends who got boated when I had weekends off in Sub school in 77. Hour and a half by bus from Groten to Buzzards Bay. :D
