The projected path is a direct hit on Miami. Floridians have suffered enough. Has anyone heard from bound?

The new projected path, at this point, is in through Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte again, about 8 PM Monday - right where Charley came in, and then due north between Tampa and Orlando, though a little closer to Mickey-Land. However, projecting a hurricane's path for more than 48 hours in advance is a very "iffy" proposition, as they learned (again) with Charley, when it suddenly turned NE of their projections and went inland in just a couple of hours.

I have to admit I'm glad I moved out of Tampa (aka Hell) two years ago. I would not have wanted to be there for the last four weeks, nor for the coming few days.

my heart goes out to florida! frances left 15 inches in the western part of the state (north carolina) yesterday. enough!

millions are without power in florida and its going to be worse if ivan hits. i am now worried even more about my family there.

Well, the track keeps moving westward, little by little... perhaps the gods and goddesses will show a little mercy to poor battered Florida and all they'll get will be the outskirts. (Hmm... does that make Ivan a cross-dresser, wearing outskirts?)

I worry, too, though. My 76-year-old mother is 50 miles north of Tampa, and my brother about 20 miles east of Tampa. Haven't been able to get in touch with them since before Frances. Going to try again in a little bit.

<Crossing fingers for Florida and all whose families are there and going through all this.>

My family escaped major damage during Charley. A miraculous event, considering my uncle and grandparents both have houses on Sanibel Island, off the coast of Ft. Meyers. Total damage was a lost screen enclosure for the pool, a few uprooted orange trees, and a blown over ficus tree.

Now Ivan is headed that way, and expected to stay just off shore. This is not a good portent, as the strongest winds are to the north and east of the eye, and the current track brings those to bear on the coast line.

Hunker down people, this season looks to be a long one. (Preferably, hunkering down with someone fun ;) )

Hey, I didn't see this til now or I'd have posted sooner.

Looks like Ivan's going to stay west of Florida, might skim up the coast but hopefully it won't make it that far.

Thanks WD for thinking about me. :)

I've had some wacky RL stuff happen and that's why I hadn't been posting. Maybe I'll talk about it sometime. LOL

Utlrasound in 2 weeks. :D

It looks like it will hit the panhandle and once again I'll be in the middle of it. In the middle of the rain anyway, I know that isn't anything like being hit with a catogory 5. Our main lake is already a foot and a half over full pool. This could be the worst of the three.

hi bound..glad you are ok :)

Yah it's shooting straight up to the panhandle WD, stinks you're getting the fallout. :(

Thanks KC :)

Ugh, the rain alone will be bad enough on what's left of the roof here at my house and at my store, not to mention the flooding around here...altho it's helping some of the lakes that were nearly killed by the last few droughts

I really am worried about my friends in Alachua county, the river hasn't gone all the way back down from over the street by Imi's from Frances yet

I just heard that Home Depot in FL has lowered the price of plywood in FL. It is nice to see a company with a heart.

I agree!!

Great - Ivan swings west to the Panhandle avoiding most of Florida... but now there's TD 11, heading for the *east* coast of FL. Sheesh! Enough is enough is too freakin' much already!

After seeing the weather tonight, I'm worried about you all. They said it was going to go straight into Georgia... WriterDom.

Why not like buy a time-share in Florida and a real home in somewhere like Las Vegas?

Well, I can spit and hit SC. But I do worry about Georgia Girl. And one of my first bdsm experiences, who is still in Tallahassee. A 34DDD at the time. Her pussy was as tight as a snapping turtle. It wouldn't let go till it thundered.

Lucky you, sweetheart. Guess I have no reason to worry about you, do I?

But now that you mention GeorgiaGirl and I'm thinking of MG5, too...

The path that is projected, as of this morning, takes the majority of it away from my area. But if it shifts back....I'll be worried about me too....lol. We'll still be on the east side which is where the highest winds are but hopefully not the 60 - 85 mph ones we were hearing yesterday.

I hope things are well with your family, LDW.

And it's good to hear from bound and GeorgiaGirl, too.

As some have just gotten power back, it'll be a blessing that Ivan (should he not wobble) will roll on by the west coast of Florida...

I am on the east coast of Florida and was one of the very few that didn't lose power, water, or phone during Frances. My family which live in west-central Florida didn't fair so well and neither did the community across the highway from me. But, at my house, we simply got wind and rain. I'm certainly finding that I'm ready to be done with hurricane season this year.

The attitude of some around here is lax and they don't care anymore and some in the Keys feel that it's all been much ado about nothing and are angry at having evacuated.

Mother Nature is a tricky bitch...and is worthy of respect and not a small amount of fear.
