The tv people measured sustained winds well into the CAT 3 range. The weather people guesstimate the winds. Its like the difference between someone who's fucking reporting the action, and a perfesser guessing whats going on.

I feel a tad of what they are - under severe wind warning here. It came outa nowhere about half an hour ago.
I'm listening to things crashing and banging outside while the 'van shakes and rocks. We didn't have a chance to batten down properly. There's stuff fliying outside. The lights just flickered for the first time. It's going to be a long night.
