HTML center for portion of story, not making it in posting - Help!

I originally submitted a chapter of my story with three lines centered. I submitted it as a Word document. The first time it was posted, those three lines weren’t centered.

I submitted an update with the specific request to make sure those lines got centered (it’s a a short note written by one of the characters) and it was posted sometime during the night but only the first line got centered.

I have it centered in Word but the format is somehow not carrying over.

Is there someway to get a hold of who is doing the posting so they can go in and include the other two lines in the center tag or do I have to submit another update, maybe using .rtf or something else?

Thank you for any help with this.

I decided to resubmit the chapter using the text editor with the html markup, even though the FAQ says that if there is special formatting, the file should be submitted as a document. I figure at worst, Laurel will reject it.

At best, they'll see the markup for what I want centered and will just go into the posted file and move the </center> code to where it needs to be.

Please, if someone objects to this, let me know and I'll pull it back.

Thank you for any help.

So far as we know, Laurel is the only person processing stories, so if she's missing the code, she's missing the code. You could go on resubmitting with a Note, but your story is up now, edits take longer; and it's out there as it is, with its broken code. It might take a while to fix it, or it might not get fixed at all.

Something similar happened to a couple of my stories - html code not being processed even though it was flagged in a note to the Ed. When html goes wrong, it just makes a mess of your intent and becomes a hassle. You either keep going trying to get it fixed, or do what I did after a while: get by with minimal or no html. It's often not worth the bother.

Yay. The update (text only with the html markups) got posted. It’s all fixed now.

Thank you!!!
