So, last summer the grandkids left the back door open and we got a mouse in the house.

I caught it and it is gone.

To be sure I left the mouse traps on top of the kitchen cabinets. Just got around to vacuuming up and tossing the traps recently.

Another trap had a mouse. Been there for a while. It is gone and all is clean.

Would you tell your Wife?

Cost-Benefit analysis time.

What good would it do to tell her? Do you tell each other every time you do minor chores?

Are there any downsides to telling her? Is she terrified of mice? Points for saying nothing.

You know her better than we do.

The question was, would you tell your wife.:D

Yes. Usually, if there's a mouse in a trap then there's bound to be droppings in the pantry or cabinets. Varmints have a surprising capacity to chew through food packaging. An inspection is in order at least, and probably putting everything through the dishwasher.

I once caught a hobo in my shed. I fed him a peanut butter sandwich, then called the cops. That'll teach that hobo.

Yes, if I had a wife, I'd tell her, for two reasons:
a)heath reasons - mice leave little surprises that reduce peoples heath. Cleaning up after them is extensive. You might think you got it all, but then again...
b)Mice are tricky devils that tell their family where the food is at. In other words, expect more visitors, and if you're not watching carefully, then they'll start opening food boxes, and then wife will know for sure.

Seriously? Is the wife a 1940's house wife that gets up on the table and screams because she saw a mouse?

Actually, the Wife jumps on a chair and screams. She really does not like mice.

The house was cleaned and such.

When I seen the back door open, I figured mice got in I set the traps then. The mice were caught before they got into anything.
