How'd you pick your user name?

Will you ever tell us why 179? I love being near, in, on the water! Are you lucky enough to be near a beach??

I don't live near the beach most of the year. But I am lucky to have a summer beach house, and I get there as often as I can. The 179 is something recognizable to those IRL, so I'd rather not say. Just in case.

I've always been fascinated by Greek mythology. I wanted Ariadne, but it was taken. Everything else that crossed my mind was taken. I'm not very imaginative when it comes to this sort of thing, so I put far too much time into coming up with an alternative. Fortunately Arianthe seems to suit me. I use it elseweb and I've even been known to answer to Arianthe (or Ari) in real life.

From Kurt Vonnegut's short story Harrison Bergeron, where 'equality' is forced upon the populace with a sort of handicap regimen - people who are too strong have to carry weights, the too pretty or handsome have to wear masks, etc. HB is the rebel against that.

I'm with you. I was never Tink but often called shorty, baby girl, and my least favorite squirt. I was squirt a lot.

I picked my UN because incest dirty stories/RP is kinda my thing. I figured it would be obvious but oddly enough it has not been.

Squirt is kinda creepy.

Do people just want to be sweet to you, like big brothers and sisters would be? Haha - or pull your hair and call you squirt?

Seems pretty obvious to me

I choose mine because Sultan was already selected (zero posts person  )
So I added the 'sd' to make people think I am in South Dakota

Why Sultan, though?

It's the name Daddy gave me

:rose:

Amy was taken..I can't imagine why

How do you think I got my user name?

My choice for a user name was not terribly clever and is just kind of obvious, I think! Wish i had a clever story line for it, but I don't.

Sometimes obvious is good!

When I created my new account it was for several reasons but one was to show someone what they meant to me.

This username is one given to me by them. It means sexy snuggler to them. It means belonging to me.

:rose:

I am a FL gator Fan. I am a fun person. And last I checked I am a girl :)

My husband's family are Noles fans with the exception of one lone Gator fan - the rivalry is real!

Being drunk at the time of signing up. That’s all you need to know.

Welllll.... It does seem a little obvious, drunk or not. :)

I chose Uncle as I was that much older and liked the uncle/niece dynamic as a change from daddy daughter. Jack was a random name...Uncle jack was taken so it became Oldunclejack!:)

I once lived in an townhouse that had a major water issue in the master bathroom shower so the plumber was in and out a lot for a couple of weeks getting it all fixed. It was early fall and I was spending most afternoons out by the pool right outside my front door. One day when he arrived, Babygirl was playing out on the sidewalk and told him that I was out at the pool, he told her that's because I was a sunbunny. It stuck. It's been almost 30 years and I still remember Sean the plumber with his green eyes and charming smile.

Are there dancers on tv?

I didn't know what my username really meant when I created it; that has only become apparent in recent years.

When I filled out my Lit profile for the first time, I wanted a name that would be more descriptive than "Mike5261" (as distinct from that utter reprobate, Mike5260 ;)). I wasn't seeking physical liaisons, so I chose the word "mind" to reflect my interest in the mental domain. I considered an active description such as "explorer", but all of my ideas seemed dull. Then I remembered the name of a character from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy that makes me chuckle: a philosopher called Vroomfondel. This was my inspiration for Mindfondler, and i adopted that username with little further thought.

More recently, as I've explored BDSM and become active in the scene, I've realised that my username is even more appropriate than I realised. Although I enjoy physical play, my real kinks lie in the mental and emotional domains: establishing strong connections with submissive partners and playing consensually with their minds. My preferred role is more active than just an explorer or a top — I want to dig deeply, interact and, in a benevolent way, leave my own "marks" as a dominant (i.e. from my fondling of their minds).
.

A benevolent Dominant. Thats a provocative image. It's good you've grown into your name. I'm kitten_candy elsewhere and I've grown out of that name. At the time, I did feel light and playful. Now, 15 years later, I feel much different in my submission.

I have to confess to being slightly disappointed by this - I imagined you were naming yourself after Old Uncle Jack in the "Ripping Yarns" episode "The Curse Of The Claw"!

Denny

Actually I didn't exactly pick our user name. It just sort of happened after too many funny, sexy, cool names got rejected. Long ago just after the Big Bang I met a girl. I'd dated girls before but at that time there were more important things in my young life. Hotrods, motorcyces, and fishin are just a few.
Well this girl asked another girl to fix me up for a date with the first girl. She fell in love with my picture in the newspaper. Found out she was new at the school, came from someplace called Minnesota, all the way to Illinois.
As I wrote, I'd dated but none of those girls turned me on. I figured if this new girl was stupid enough to want to date me maybe I could get her to act out some of my fantasies. Well, she wasn't as dumb as she looked and I sort of liked her a little bit.

We'd talk about life, sex, and things. Lots of things young guys fantasies about. We kept dating then married. I kept dreaming up fantasies and with lots of coaxing, begging, and trickery, we were living my fantasies.

Sort of a long stupid user name. But after many tries using other names, shortening it to fit, MsDollie and I became known as LIVING OUR FANTASIES. That didn't fit either so I ended up with LIVINRFANTASIES. Sort of a crappy user name but it actually hints of our lives and our stories.

After many games and many years together, now I'm writing about our fantasy games and living in the past.

And that's the rest of the story again.:)

I have one name that I use at virtually every login on the interwebs. Which I didn't want to use here.

The number, 82, is just what I use for differentiation.

But I happened to have a history book open on my desk when I was signing up. And the name of a Persian king which amused me because of the two x's seemed the way to go at the time.

Years ago, I ran a chat room under a different name. Did not want to use that name because that room was for a totally different subject. I had a magazine on my desk. Jada Pinkett Smith was on the cover. She was pregnant. I was pregnant. And two of the initials of my real name are J.D. So the name seemed fitting. I added the 59 because it is my birth year.

Haha - Jada59, meet Xerxes82. Seems you have similar stories about your names!! :)

I just wanted something practical.....

Thank goodness you didn't want something goofy.

I'm a geek so it's my favourite all this console game ,

pikmin is a game??

Many years ago, I created a character for a superhero RPG for an ex of mine. Her nickname at work was "Monkey", and the RPG character became Simian. In comics, when a character turns evil, they are usually called "Dark Whatever". After we broke up, the character became "Dark Simian". I then changed the gender, and claimed it for myself. When I came to Lit, I knew I need something unique, and so I dusted off DarkSimian.

There is an origin story for "Simian" floating around here somewhere....

In an odd way, that's sweet.

Once upon a time it was meant to be ironic. Or something.
These days I'm a closet optimist. I almost changed it about a week ago.

Did anyone ask you your own question back yet? Curious minds and all that... :)

Aaaaand that’s how you kill a thread.
Sorry, Cookie. :rose:

haha! I've killed a million threads with my wit and wisdom.

My username? I tried every uber cool name I could think of. All taken. The site I was on finally offered robo-help. If I had a pet, what type of animal? What was the last thing I ate. :( Kinda boring.

Little did I know there's a thread like this already!

It is pretty. And your AV!! Makes me a little claustrophobic in a good, shivery way.

Badamy.
That's just me.

Obviously.

I wonder about people who pick clever user names are forced to use names like averagejoe or boringplaingirl?

First there was a painting and then a really awesome song about it...

Prettiest song ever.

How do you think I got my user name?

There's a badAmy (see above). You could've been superAmy.

Do potential niece/daughter types clue in on your name? Wasn't it Little Sister who said she picked the name for interesting sexy reasons and no one really seemed to get it?

Aww! Nice memory! :cattail:
