How?

OK, I am trying to get to 100 so I can have an avator. How come some people have one w/o having 100 posts? I might have missed something about how to use the avator? Please help me? Sorry to be of nuisance!!

no no no not being a nuisance at all. the boards all funky now so ya gotta go to the top of the page. go to Control Panal. Then to Edit Options and scroll to the bottom where it has an avatar option. Upload yer avatar and there ya go.

seriously, pleasteasme..... it won't be any easier when you get to 100 posts. You can upload an avatar just as easily now as later. MysteryJKR's instructions were correct, but if you still have problems, just ask.

is it really restricted to 100 posts now? I know I dont get around in here as much but thats new to me. Which is totally possible. I wish I could help. I really do.

Maybe the pic is just to big? I had to resize mine like twice cuz it kept saying it was to big. *shrugs* Other than that. i dunno.

try putting it in your sig line... go to control panel->edit profile

type in <img src= "address of avatar here">

and you need the quotes in that... and it should work

OK, here is what I am doing *see if I am doing it wrong*

1. Go to control panel

2. Edit options

3. Scroll all the way down to where it says "avatar"
from here there are two choices: 1. More info. . . which takes me to a screen that describes avatars and says "here is the list of currently available avatars" in which, there are none. I can't seem to locate anywhere to 'upload' them either. The other choice is the "Change Avatar" button which takes me to "edit avatar" in which *I think* my problem lies ~ "NO" is selected for "Use Avatar" and I can't un-select it!!!

Any ideas?

do like i said and go to edit profile... not edit options... and put it in your sig line

type in <img src= "internet address of pic you want to use here">

and hit submit


to find the address of the pic (assuming you have found it on the web somewhere, which you should have if you're using the one Mistress made)... right click on the pic (or ask Mistress for the address of it), go to properties.. then copy and paste the address... and insert it in the command line above

You have to go to the question below where the stuck 'no' choice is and hit the 'yes' button, then it will let u upload an avatar from your computer

Your avatar looks great! If you want it under your name you do have to wait for 100 posts, then that question under the no tab will open for you.

100 Post Avatars

Actually everyone is sort of correct. You do have to have 100 posts now in order to put it under your name although that was just recently changed -- prior to that it was 10, which is why some people have them with under 100 posts. I know I found out and then did a marathon posting day - over 50 one day - in order to be able to post mine. If you want help getting to 100 shy and I are masters at it and would be glad to help -- but if you are happy with it in the sig line it looks good there too.

I was going for 100 last night, but got soooo frustrated with the avatar deal that when I finally got it to work, I decided to get some sleep. (does anyone else on this board sleep?) LOL, but anyway, when I posted it, I realized how ironic that it was at 69 and thought it might be fitting to leave off there and start again today!!

I will be back on later tonight and try to get 100. Thanks for your help!!!
