How would you say it?

I am trying to think of ways to describe the acts of sex and the way the people feel physically and emotionally about it. I want to get a list of phrases that I could use on topics from hand jobs to pure kinky sex. Could you lend an idea?

Please copy and paste with your answers:

How to describe the action:

How to describe how people (any involved) feel physically:

How to describe how they feel emotionally:

Well, that's why writing is an art form. We think of descriptive terms and paint word pictures that the public can relate to and identify with, about whatever the act may be. If you can't think of such phrases and ways, maybe writing isn't for you.

He may just be looking for tips to talk dirty or he could be a scriptwriter for some phone sex operator.

In thinking of a response it dawned on me that I can't just come up with anything to say.

I think it all depends on the characters, the setting, the type of sex, the "pairing" as in is it m/f f/f is it incest, is it a cheating spouse?

All those variables and more go into the description and it just flows with what has already been created.

Guess that is the problem with being a seat of the pants writer

I have noticed a couple of incidents lately wherein a first-time LIT poster asks an open-ended question about story construction; as in, fill in the blanks and give me a story. I chided an earlier one-off poster (whom I think of as an intellectual leech) for this practice. They didn't bother to act as community members, introduce themself, join in discussions, offer opinions or information, before demanding their bit. I find this discourteous at best, and exploitative at worst.

Read some of the stories on the site and get an idea. There are no definite answers to this request. If you need stock phrases to write a story, you might want to reconsider writing.

Sure!

My idea would be for you to wander over to the main category hub.

Pick any two listings you find under "Anal" and read them.

Then drop down to the next category..."BDSM"...and do the same.

Next: Lather~rinse~repeat your way through at least ten or twelve more categories. Do it with every category if you are truly serious about getting ideas.

If after all that, you still need your laundry list of questions answered, drop back by and let us know.

I'm seeing a lot of thinking floating through here that there's a formula to stories that sets well with that one mythical universal reader reading on Literotica. As writing fiction is an individualized creative process, this sets my teeth on edge. Increasingly people are looking for the easy button and, what? maybe have a list of functions like writing that they want to mark off as having done according to the secret formula and then move on to the next function? Swimming with the sting rays, maybe?

As mentioned, a good sex scene is one that is tailored to the story. So if it's a non-consent story, it'll be written showing the characters reluctance. If it's First Time, then there's nervousness. If it's Incest, then you highlight the taboo.

You also want to ask yourself, "Given the story so far, how the characters reasonable react given this situation?"

Speaking of handjobs. I wrote a jerk-off scene last night for a mother/son story. The story is playful, which is why it's written in such a way:

My mother got down on her knees, directly in front of me. She didn't waste any time and immediately grabbed the base of my throbbing erection with both hands. Her hands felt soft. I've always known they were soft since she likes to touch me a lot. But feeling her hands on my cock was something else entirely.

It was a surreal sight. My beautiful mother was actually stroking me. Her hands looked small and delicate wrapped around my erection. Her eyes were gazing at my cock, as if she were studying it to paint later. She looked very pretty under the natural sunlight coming through the window, and she was giving me a handjob of all things.

"That feels good," I blurted out.

"Well that's the idea," she replied. "The sooner we get this over with, the better."

The taboo was unbelievable. I was naked in front of my mother, and she was on her knees jerking me off. The thrill of that only made me harder, which I think surprised my mother. Her slow and gentle strokes suddenly became faster and harder.

I had a principal once that asked the teachers to assemble something similar with specific discipline issues, so we'd have a book of tricks at our disposal. The bastard took it and published it as his own.

Sorry. I'm not gonna play this one.

Your enquiry reminded me of school exams.
I suggest you read a few stories and work it out.

I wrote down a whole heap of them and put them in stories. You can see them by clicking the link in my sig below.

My first response was going to take this lightly and point out that the answer to these requests was 90% of what was submitted to this site, but that does a disservice to the storytellers here.

I used to spend time on Yahoo Answers and it was painfully obvious when someone was posting an essay question they'd been set as a homework assignment, I'll give you the same answer I gave them: do your own homework.

This site has the answers you're looking for, if you put in the effort to look. Bypassing that effort and just outright asking the authors to fill in the blanks for you is lazy and won't tell you much at all.

Choose a theme - for example, fruit - and then compare specific kinds of fruit to the bodily functions being described in the story. Or farm animals. I've always wanted to compare a man's ejaculation to the milk spurting out of a cow's udder, but I'm not that ambitious of a writer.

Seriously, collecting phrases is something songwriters (or writers in general) do in their notebooks. Many times these phrases pop up in conversation, or from TV or movie dialogue, or out of thin air, and the writer makes a mental note, or leaves a message on their cellphone, or writes it down on a napkin to be entered into the notebook later. Then, when they're in the midst of writing a song, they might consult the notebook for an appropriate line. If they're consulting someone else's notebook, (which is what you're requesting with this thread) that's considered a co-write.

There are some excellent how-to articles on writing erotica here at LIT, and several old threads in the AH on alternative phrases for vaginas or breasts or intercourse. Check them out. :)

This assumes that we've all seen it. Modern, city, kids might not and most milking parlours feature a cold, impersonal machine to do it, so the observer is going to miss it, anyway.
But I get your point! :)

You know...after I posted this I did some reading. I was reminded of how I used to write stories years ago. It all came flooding back to me and I see how personality influences writing too much for anyone to be able to answer the question. Sorry guys, it has just been a long time and I am rusty.
