If you were writing a story with a character dressed like the above how would you describe her? I'm kind of iffy on my own wordings for that kind of thing so I thought I'd ask what others would do with that.

Yeah, that's one way to do it. I dunno, I occasionally think it'd be fun to throw more exotic styles of dress into a thing, but I can never really get the image of it across without way more words than I'm comfortable with using.

Umm, sorry don't think I'll be much help - the words that immediately spring to mind are of the "yuck" and "skank" variety. But that'd be contextual.

I recall a swimsuit periodical that had something like that in it. It looked sort of like that in the front but the only thing behind was a single gold metal ring with all the straps tying into it. Yeah, '80's.

Good idea. Make it "thin strips of satin" and I think everyone'd have the idea.

It's not worth describing, really-- you can say she was wearing a very pricey piece of nothing much-- the kind of noting that would cause a riot anywhere she went, and then go on to describe the viewers reaction to it...

That would be the best way. Even after it's ripped off or shed or slowly stripped out of, all it is is a tiny puddle of silk on the floor. What shape it was on the girl is really irrevelent.
