How would one of our more outspoken liberals fair on a Conservative Christian board?

It all depends on how eloquent our liberal is...
Most of Todd's problems are due to borrowed eloquence. He's still treated better here than some of the less eloquent liberals would be on some Christian boards.
I'm not maschistic enoughto seek out a Christian board to post liberal views on, but I bet I could stir more shit than Todd does here and get treated better in the process.
The key is eloquence, not beliefs.

Perhaps, and expertise, and a passion for what he studies.
As for stirring shit--it would probably depend on how you presented yourself. Some would respond in kind, others would ignore you, others might flame you or try to ban you. Some would have very emotional responses, others would try to appeal to your intellect and reason, others might try to ridicule you into seeing it their way, or use humor, or, or, or...
You know, kinda like what we do here...

If you check the archives, you'll see that Todd was the brunt of abuse WAY before he ever started on his political crusade. He has a special ability to get under people's skins on a wide variety of subjects.
I must be really blind, because I've never seen this board as particularly "liberal". I also don't see the conservatives being abused. I do see some name-calling on both sides, but it's oretty much equal IMHO. In fact, I think the BB is split close to 50-50 conservative/liberal - much more conservative than some might believe an adult site BB to be. Am I totally off base (again)?

Huh. *shrug* I suppose it's all perspective. I still don't think conservatives get abused or mistreated here, though. Todd takes his lumps, but he also stands out and makes wild & crazy statements. If there were some wacky far-lefter on the BB posting about nationwide salary caps and universal health care, I'm sure he'd get his butt whupped too.
Also, I'm not sure that it's fair to associate "Christian" and "conservative". There's many liberal Christians on this board, and even some non-Christian conservatives (i.e. Uncle Bill). They aren't synonymous. Mother Theresa could hardly be considered a conservative, yet who could doubt her faith in God?

I'm a non-Christian conservative. I believe in the Non-God given right to bear arms, legs too. Torsos if you must, but have a permit.
Christians would treat non-christians coming into their domain badly. Particularly if the domain is not a state religious forum. Particularly one of us pornmongers. It would be more like the way we treat internet porn basher than the way we treat Todd. With the single caveat that after calling us everything but a dirty rotten christian bastard, they'd pray for us.

as a conservative, I have been treated with respect here, with very little exception.
There are liberals on the Christian boards..... they are treated with respect also, when they post reasonable messages.
The few really conservative political boards I have visited, have a lot more trouble with liberalism. But maybe, it's because those boards are more "reinforcement" boards rather than "debate" boards.
The political debate boards.... are a nightmare..... the liberals and the conservatives are screaming at each other and calling each other names.... On the political debate boards, anyone with a "moderate" view is blasted by both sides.....
Precisely because this board has its roots in sex, the political debates aren't that passionate. (with momentary exceptions). Actually, that is one of the things I really like about this board, Laurel. You have created an environment where there is something "more important" than the political debate... that connects all of us..... That adds a little civility into even the most heated debates....

Sex, fortunately, is enjoyed by the vast majority of people - no matter their gender, race, political stance, social background, religious affiliation or anything else. This is a good thing, both for the board and the human race.
