To be clear the whoever in this case is long term party functionaries and loyalists. They are not random people off the street with different political ideologies. We are talking about people like Hillary Clinton who will be serving as an elector for New York this year. They are people who overwhelmingly want the person their state picked to win and probably spent quite a bit of time and money actively working to help them win.

Even if we see stupid it should generally be of the fiercely loyal to their party nominee kind of stupid.
