Now I may be young and clueless, but I think I've figured this one out. It seems like there are three different types of wax people:

1) DON'T DO THAT! - there's not a whole lot you can do here. obviously if the person dosen't find it at all pleasureable or interesting there's no possible reason it ought to be done. Now there's an exception to this. If you just poured hot was on some poor inexperienced woman's breast\nipple...etc it's a wonder she didn't just flat out kick you in the groin. If you start slowly and carefully on less sensitive areas(foot\arm) your SO may begin to enjoy the subtle warmth and sometimes sharp heat of wax. Use larger candles. Not stick candles. Use some type where the wax can pool up alittle away from the flame. further from the flame - cooler the wax.

2) Be Careful - This is someone that likes the heat, but not too much of it. The way you use wax to keep it from ever getting too hot is pretty simple. Just pass your hand across the wax right after you drip it on your partner. This will spread it out and cool it off much faster. This way it will never feel more then warm. By dripping the wax this way you can pretty much put it anywhere - though use some common sense caution. Odds are you should use large candles again.

3) Go for it - If your partner is a bit or a lot masochistic you can just drip it right on and let it sit there. Once you've gotten to this point candle size isn't as important, but I would lite a couple types so you can have sensation differences. Just go to town.

For me anyway when I use wax I like my partner to be tied up and blind folded. Anticipation is a great thing. I hold the candle near my partners skin and move it about so they can feel some heat, but there's no wax yet. Then I'll drop a bit some where that I know they enjoy particularly - inner thigh or stomach usually - and wipe it off so she can get a taste of what's to come.
just what I think anyway. Becareful and don't burn the house down!
