Trying to upload photos that you can automatically see without hhavibg to click on the link I see people post pics within the thread..appreciate the help

If you have an external link - [.img]insert link here[./img] remove the full stops or the BBcode won’t work. I included them so you could see the code

When you see a photo embedded in a post, it has been linked (not uploaded). This implies that the image is on a web server and has a URL that can be linked. If it's on your local hard drive, you'll need to upload it somewhere first.

Once it's on a web server and you have the URL, you can use the "Insert image" tool in the menu, which looks like a picture of a landscape. This will insert the IMG and /IMG tags. Once you know how to format them correctly, you can type them in yourself instead of using the menu (as pointed out above).

Those photos that you uploaded can be displayed. They now reside on the Lit server and in your User CP you can see them in the Attachments section. If you click the link, it will display and in the address bar will be the URL were it lives.

[img] url [/img] will display it in a post or PM.

I want to have the name of a post from this site appear inside the link.

(1) I copy the URL in question ( from this site) and paste it on the post I want it to be,
(2) I paste the name of the post over it, within the URL brackets ( I tried both the the blue globe and the yellow mountain),

Then the name of the post showed up with an underscore. I clicked. It was clickable but the post didn't show up (it said something like 'not searchable')

what to do ?
Thank you

It seems to me the source site your using might not always let you post a viewable link. Sometimes you have to be creative with how you manage to copy it. I usually use the icon with the yellow mountain and the globe to post my pictures. I then erase the http:// that is already in the brought up dialog box because it will insert that back into the url you post. It does take some experimenting with both how you post the link into the dialog box and how you copy it as a link to post. I use both Apple products and occasionally a windows 10 computer and how they deal with links to projects are different.
Just experiment and always use the preview post button to make sure it works successfully before you press the submit supply button at the bottom of your larger dialogue box you post it In. If you need other help please send me a pm and include the site you want to post the picture from . Sadly some just wont let you and they don’t approve of you posting their links in a different web page and sometimes it according to how you do it.

To link to a post, click on the post number in the upper right hand corner of the post, then using the url tags...

Thank you Knoturnal & Zeb_Carter.

Correction: I meant to post a thread, not a post. Sorry.

Example: I want you to look at this thread. Instead of having you see the link of this thread: https://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=1513505,
I want you to see the name of this thread in the link: How to upload photos to see not click

I copy the URL of this thread and paste it on the yellow mountain dialogue then post it in the post where I'm writing to talk with you. Then I see
showthread.php
----I clicked 'save changes'---I filled in the name of this thread: how to upload photos to see not click ---then the next page says 'cannot reach this page'

Im using windows 10 computer

I’ve uploaded pics to my attachments and the added the attachments to posts but they only show as an “attachment” link. They never show as full pictures in the posts. What am I doing wrong?

I'm getting lost in what others are trying to tell you.

To display a name within a link instead of the link .....

[ url=http://actual link here] Text Link Description here[/url]

So, for your example:

[ url=https://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=1513505] How to upload photos to see not click [/url]

{remove the space I added between the [ and u }

Result:

How to upload photos to see not click

It's fairly basic BBCode.

Testing

How to upload photos

It worked !!

Thank you much jaF0

I had to click the blue globe, not the yellow mountain.

When I clicked the yellow mountain I got ...
When I clicked the blue globe I got [URL....[/URL]

Try adding at the very beginning and at the end

Actually, when you add the attachment (and there are rules for doing that in the FAQ) click on the link provided. If will open another window with the image displayed. Copy the URL from the Address bar, go back to the tab your were originally on, click the yellow mountain icon, paste the URL you just copied and click OK.

or

You could do the same up to clicking on the mountain icon and just past the URL in to the post, then add the [img] [/img] tags to it.

Not that it's a big deal, since I'll just stick with creating mgur links, but I have read those guidelines. But for instance, in the GLBT chatter forum, the Penis Unlimited thread seems to include both in-line images and attachments that consists of closeups of, what else, penises (both erect and flaccid)

It would certainly be easier for me to simply attach pics rather than have to load to imgur. I just want to be sure to follow forum rules.

(Not sure if anyone would notice an in-line pic of my penis or not unless therefore running at an increased zoom level.)

Report them, that forum is moderated. It would seem the two moderators are not following the rules of their job.
