How to Tell?

I have a female friend who is having some concerns lately.

Roughly 6 weeks ago she had sex and although her period has never been regular it has only started now, although she tells me it is surprisingly light and it is known for pregnant women to bleed early in pregnancy.

There was no direct conception a such, (she uses protection) however the guy she was with removed the condom for Anal sex and she knows he ejaculated there and that some 'ran down' to her Vagina. She is unsure of whether its possible that some may have 'found its way in'.

Ive tried to give her advice myself since ive known others in similar situations but i felt that it would be best to ask other women who maybe have similar experiences.

It's been long enough for a home pregnacy test to work.

Heck, she can buy it at the drug store, use their rest room, and never have to take it home.

Yeah, have her take a test. If she's old enough to have sex, and know what the word pregnant means, then she's old enough to know how to piss on a stick.

It takes what, like 5 minutes? If she's unsure about results, have her buy a two pack (Target has thier own brand in a 2 pack for like $8-10 is all). Take one, wait a day or two, take another. After that, she'll either know or not.

So long as the directions are followed, the tests are accurate.

Ok... Imagine this. You are a sperm about 1000th of an inch long. You are ejaculated into someones ass... dribble down over time onto a pussy, manage to battle you way inside... find the vaginal canal... then swim like a little fishy for 5 inches or so to the cervex... then another 6 to 8 inches through the fallopian tubes to capture and egg.

Do you realize that is like you, a full sized human person, swimming from New York to Chicago?

I'd say it could happen, but not very likely. My impression is that your lady (1) wasn't very careful, (2) should have cleaned up the mess if she was worried before there was a problem, (3) may well be either suffering anxious problems because wasn't using "protection" at all or her periods are screwed up (which you stated they were anyway).

Tell her to get tested, not just for pregnancy but for STD's too. Ya never know.

Though I agree with Jenny_S ... not to mention the white army dies on air contact after a minute or so... BUT inside they can 'live' up to 48 hours and it only takes one. Tell her to buy a few tests, if shes nervious go to the next town over

There are lots of things that can affect your period. She should get tested, and if she's not pregnany and her period still concerns her, tell her to consider seeing a doctor. They're pretty good at figureing out what it could be. maybe a change in diet? Amount of activity? Stress? You name it. Damn hormones. Always screwing with us.

She could totally be pregnant. It only takes one sperm and a little dribble would contain millions of sperm. A pregnancy test seems in order. Oh, and maybe recommend condoms for anal sex.

Pregnancy happening from anal sex like you described occurs frequently enough to have a name: splash conception. It is absolutely possible.

Getting tested at this point is critical. She should also strongly consider requiring her guy to use a condom during anal sex to prevent this situation from occuring again. (It's also MUCH safer and more hygienic for him.)

As for the irregular periods, her gyno can help her address that issue. I've know a couple women who have gone onto BC pills primarily to regulate their periods.

why are people so hesitant to just take a pregnancy test if they think they could be?


The 12 bucks is worth a GIANT piece of mind, and it isnt hard to wizz on that little stick.


Just take a test and figure out what to do. There is no way to guess or signs to tell. If she think she could be pregnant she could manifest the symptoms without being pregnant at all.

He took OFF the condom for anal? The easiest sexual way for a woman to get aids? Pregnancy is curable, aids isn't.

If she can risk her life so easily I don't see why she can't risk buying a pregnancy test or going to her gyno.

Okay, so I am crabby. Not enough chocolate, looking at the moon or ice.

Tell just get a test or better yet buy her one. It is not like a rabbit will die or anything.
