How to take down a thread.

You can't. This is a general property of internet forums - once a thread is created only a moderator can move or delete it. If you want it moved you should send a message to a mod.

Like sunandshadow said, you can't, unless you ask a mod to do so. However, they do tend to be very busy, so it may take a while.

Do you mean the pic thread in the Playground? It'll die an uneventful death if you stop posting (although, sometimes some threads get resurrected for some reason. If you do want it to 'die', then just don't respond). What I'd suggest is that you head over to the AMPics, read the important stickies (on top of the forum, such as this one) and start a new thread with a great new title.
