How to Suspend Her?

I am writing a story in which the main character is having her wrists bound and then will be restrained over a door or from a hook in the wall. The problem is, I have never done this or seen it done. What are the logistics--type of cuffs? (I assume leather, buckling? Is there a certain kind for hanging up your lady?) ....and for the wall...I assume this type of thing exists....a discreet hook that can be swung out and used, then folded back by the wall? What would you use to attach the wrists to the hook? If not a hook, what would you use?

This character needs to be immobilized but not "hanging", her feet would still be able to touch the floor, but not enough for her to get the purchase to move her body around. I am envisioning equipment that is safe and secure and sexy, not painful or dangerous.

If you want something sexier, try silk ropes or a necktie.

You could attach a hook to the wall, but it would have to attached to a stud or its going to get pulled off the wall. Another idea might be an exposed beam, like in a basement or old farmhouse.

Plastic ties aren't a good choice if the OP is looking for "safe". Because they're hard and thin they can put a lot of pressure on nerves in the wrist, leading to problems like peripheral neuropathy. (Ditto metal handcuffs.) I wouldn't use them for restraint unless I was present with a pair of safety shears ready, and I definitely wouldn't use them for suspension.

Safer options: broad padded cuffs, or wrapping with rope.

Your points are well taken. However, the OP specified that the wrist restraints were not supporting he'd weight. Her feet were on the ground and the restraints were merely to immobilize her arms. In that case, I don't see a problem. I've worn metal cuffs and plastic strips. As long as they are not too tight--a problem with any type of restraints--there won't be an issue.

An unusual but effective way to do this is wrap her wrists with tape while she is wearing a long-sleve shirt. ( Tape goes on cloth, not skin ) Then tell her to take off the shirt. When she tries, she will find that she cannot do so completely. Then grab the shirt, pull it over a door, and close the door.

I hope I find what I am looking for .... this is a planned, ongoing situation so I think the characters would have leather cuffs, etc... and a well secured system for suspension.

There are many types of leather slave cuffs available. You can look them up in various catalogues for sex toys and bondage equipment. The wider the better since that spreads out the stress and load on the tissue and skin around the wrists. Some cuffs have "velvet lining" to reduce any possible cutting from sharp leather edges. Plastic ties and thin rope are also NOT good unless you really are about to cause serious pain and potential damage from loss of blood flow. You have to be careful to prevent real loss of blood circulation for too long.

Wide leather cuffs can be had with buckle attachments or velcro. Velcro is good because it allows quick release if a "safe call" point is reached. Even if yours is a "fantasy story" it would be good if it's about a scene with someone you actually care about and this isn't about some real psycho who gets off on potentially causing physical damge to hands arms and fingers.

Slave cuffs can be connected with straps or chains. Chains for your scene might be better since they imply something strong and they also don't stretch. There are many hooks that could be used either direcely in the top of your door frame or in the wall. Just make sure that they are attached with long screws into the door frame and not just the trip or (if in a wall) to a stud. A fall with hands bound could cause severe injury.

Your "victim" should indeed be able to support her weight with her feet. Actual suspension from the shoulders is basically "crucifiction" and can cause damage to the chest, shoulders, and diaphragm which in turn could cause suffocation. (Are you a Christian, that's what really killed Jesus, not loss of blood.)

Suspending her from the ceiling would be better than the wall or doorway (unless you expect to turn her around.) From the ceiling makes it easier to walk around her to spank or flog her ass and also tease her pussy or torture her tits.

Be careful of the time spent in suspension. It will cause loss of blood in the arms and hands and could be damaging if let go on too long. It should be long enough for you to scare, spank, flog, tease, whatever, and then mover her to a position like being bent over a stuffed chair or sofa or bed with her hands tied via the chains or straps to the legs of the furniture. I was already going to use lined leather cuffs, but was unsure whether rope or chain would be used, as well as what a "discreet" hook in the middle of a home library might look like.

Your point about being able to move all around her is well taken. I was thinking of her against a wall, as that is such a pleasant place for me, but the lesson she is learning will require 360 degrees of assessment.

This isn't a story for humiliation or degradation, just for exploring the giving and receiving of control.

I actually did a scene like this about a week ago. I used wide leather cuffs that were lined with fleece. They buckled snugly and had built in metal rings. The room had smooth wood rafters so I put a rope over and attached spring loaded clips at one end and tied the other off on the king sized bed. Her arms were too low at first but easy to connect and then I tightened the rope to the desired extension. That portion of the scene went about 10 minutes without any discomfort. Hope this helps. The clinical cause of death for the victims of crucifixion is something known as orthostatic incompetence. It is also known as 'harness hang syndrome,' and has been observed after less than 15 minutes of hanging vertically suspended from a dorsal attachment (granted, the guy did take a pretty hard fall.) The body slowly increases heart and respiration rate, and blood pressure, as a result of the added stress of hanging. Eventually, the body can no longer compensate for these stresses and systems begin to overload and fail, the heart doesn't get enough oxygen to pump itself and finally arrests. Wasn't that fun?

Your feet don't need to leave the floor (unless you're really short), you don't need to screw or drill into the woodwork, if problems happen, the best way out is for your partner to simply open the door, at which point the dowls on the other side of the door (the part of the door hangers you don't see) flip over the top of the door and you're free.

As for the cuffs used in this case, I suppose it's up to you whether leather cuffs or nylon webbing with velcro.

There are even sites that will tell you how to make them yourself. Google "door bondage straps".

I actually did something like this once.
I used a simple mooring cleat (used on boats for rigging) made of stainless steel. The trick was mounting it at the right height, with bolts strong enough to keep it anchored to the wall.
With this I simply tied her wrists with some slack, threaded the slack through the cleat and hooked it around the cleat ends. I did this with one hand while I lifted her up with my other arm. One could use a stool or chair I suppose.
I used soft cotton rope for her wrists so it wouldn't chafe and I had her stand on a couple of wooden blocks (4x4x4 inches) spread a few feet apart so she could move a little but if she moved too much she'd lose her footing. This kept her spread for me nicely
She had most of her weight on her feet but had some support by her bound wrists. Not enough to be too painful.

We use the door hangers with velcro or leather cuffs. They're cheap, easy to use, and we can hide them quickly if we hear the kids moving about
