How to save mp3 files

If cd s are the source You need a piece of software to "Rip" the music from the cd. Depending on your operating system (windows etc.) the software varies but all ripper should in essence do the same thing. You should be able to specify the mp3 parameters such as bitrates, how the mp3 files are named, if tag (track and album details) are downloaded off the internet or not. A Google for cd ripper will find some examples. Some are freeware or open source so you don't need to spend money.
If your music is already on computer storage, in a different file type then you need a piece of software to convert it to mp3. Again a search of internet and use Wikipedia will give you stacks of information on the different file formats and software to use. Good luck

Just read the op again. Source is a bitstream from audio stories page not cd's. Will take a look and revert

Download "audacity" from http://audacity.sourceforge.net/. You'll need the MP3 LAME plugin that's right there as well. Install the plugin. Then start audacity, Hit record and then listen to the audio story. You should see the audio playing/recording in audacity. When the story is done, hit stop and then export the recording as an mp3 and add it to itunes.

Can this record anything you hear on the net? ie: I use www.grooveshark.com to create playlists online. Can that be downloaded? I'm in Canada though - we may have CRTC restrictions?
