You can't. Although it would appear that you can put information in there, it's not visible to others. The profile feature has been broken since before I got here. What you have to do is put pertinent info. in your sig. line.

Well, this seems like ugly workaround given you have a profile already, and I don't know will it work now, but...
Create a new account on stories side of the site; fill in the biography there.
THEN log in forum side with that same username; the biography details will be copied over.
They're currently (since some ancient crash) are not editable forum side and later edits on story side won't be reflected here either, so that's an one shot deal.
