It's been awhile since I have used my mic ... and I have found I can use it on Yahoo Voice ... but I cannot do a voice recording ... can someone tell me how to fix this?

My web cam has a section just for the microphone. But my sound chip is too old, making any audio difficult. Have you peeked around in your camera software?

are you trying to use the voice recorder that came with Windows (if you have that)? to find it Start>all programs>accessories>entertainment>Voice recorder

Another thing to check is your Mixer settings.

I keep the Mic input muted in the mixer to keep stray sounds out of recordings from other sources. Yahoo voice may bypass the mixer sothe Mic works there but the mixer mutes it for recordings.

I tried and still nothing .. the mic even has sound through my speakers when I talk into it . I wish I could do the mic set up and check like I did when I first got this thing . It works for everything but the reocorder :(

Somewhere in the options or preferences in your recorder, there is a selection for the source to record from. The default is to record from the Mixer, but yours has apparently been changed from the default.

Just what can you record? (if anything)

It should work with the voice recorder like MorJon said. Yo shit jus be broke Skye!!! I could prolly correct it but I'd have to come over there n do it up close n personal and you don't want me to have to do that, I don't think you can afford me lol!!!!

I meant, can you record from a CD to a WAV file, or from some source other than the Mic.

You might want to browse Tucows or antoher download site and see if you can find something that's a a bit easier to configure than windows' default SoundRecorder.

I found that "MusicRack" has a fairly easy to configure and use record function, but didn't really like the visual aspect of the program -- it's intrusive in "stay on top" mode because the "remote" is too big and it doesn't work very well in hidden mode.

I'm sure that there are other Audio Programs out there that are more specialized for recording or are easier to use, but I just don't do enough recording to track them down.

Your problem is the virtual equivalent of having the wires connected wrong from the Mic to the Mixer to the Recorder. I think the problem is with the Recorder Source Selection because the Mic seems to work with other functions.
