Fwiw, I've never seen Lit as a platform for developing friendships, although I know there are those who do. Online, esp adult forums, is a constant on-off jumping off place. You can connect with someone, then they disappear. It's hard to develop friendships when people continually disappear.

Online friendships have value but my expectations for them are lower than flesh and blood ones.
If someone ghosts me online I’m unlikely to be upset: you really have no idea of their real life and there could be a million reasons for them disappearing.
How to make friends here? Find a few fun threads and join in - slowly! No one likes a person with their elbows out. Give them and you time to figure out personalities. If someone starts creeping then use the Ignore option- they won’t know but may guess later.
I used to regard Lit as being like the sparring platform in the Matrix. I’ve learned just how weird people can be, their messed up political views … all without having to run for the door.
There are hook-up threads but let’s be honest , you have to be plain dumb to trust them.
