How to learn to think for yourself instead of follow social media

All of this was already known. People are going to believe in what they want to believe in.
 
The Lit BB is about as close to social media as I have. I don't have any accounts short of the LinkedIn one I had to set up as a requirement for my employment. I have never logged on to it since setting it up.

i did find the idea that 80% of social media are bots intended to do nothing more than elevate certain posts/tweets kind of surprising.

80%?

No wonder the new world order is so screwed up, people are already following orders from machines.
 
One can follow a simple rule of thumb, wait 24-48 hours after reading or hearing a sensational news story to see if the original claims are being mitigated by essential qualifiers after the fact.

The only social media I have is FB, which is for friends and family and nothing more. Anything "news worthy" should be fact checked.

But yes, plenty are followers.
