How to I select a vibrator?

I'm on my own now after 10 great years with my man. I'm not ready yet to go out looking for a new partner. i enjoy sex and miss it so I'm looking at buying a vibrator. There seem to be a few different types. Anyone able to help me with the selection?

Well, I've found it just depends on what you prefer in a man, and what you want to do with it. I know how that sounds, I mean, what ELSE are you going to do with it

What I'm saying is...find one that fits your body and preferences. Do you want penetration or external stimulation? Do you like anal? Take all these things into consideration when shopping. For instance, there are vibrators specifically designed to stimulate externally, and there are the more classic phallic ones.

If you are petite, and/or don't like deep penetration or anal, choose a smaller one, if you don't need or like penetration to reach a climax, try an external one. The phallic shaped ones can also be used for external stimulation, but I find they don't work as well. Some vibrators specifically designed for that also come with a belt or something similar for 'hands free' operation

My advice is to choose something relativelyt small and discreet. It van be a bit overwhelming to be faced with an enormous 10" long piece of rubber on your "first date" and you probably won't feel very comfortable.
When you do buy it, don't use it straight away but have it near to hand. Then when you feel the mood out it comes!

Like it has been said, it does depend on what kind of stimulation you enjoy.

If you want both external stimulation & penetration there are toys that are specifically designed for this. They are usually described as having bunny ears or such, it is a vibrator that you use internally that near the base has a seperate protruding portion that can stimulate your clit at the same time as being used internally.

If you like double penetration, they also make "double dongs" that have a thinner shaft & a thicker shaft seperated at the base so as to be inserted into the vagina & anus at the same time. It makes it easier to stimulate & penetrate by only having to thrust one dildo rather than two.

You also need to decide if you want a simple dildo or a vibrator. If you are undecided you can get a vibrator & never put in batteries. They come in smooth & texturized styles & in all sorts of legnths & widths. If you were satisfied with your previous lover you may want to choose one that is shaped & sized like he was. If he was too much, go a little smaller. If you want a little more stretch than he gave you, or a litttle deeper penetration than get one a little longer.

You can always get one similar to him & then get a second one that is a little adventerous. If you don't necessarily don't want a dildo there are also vibrating eggs that have remote controls.
