Hi there. I want to enable my browser (either IE or Firefox) for Java so I can use the chat program here. Trouble is if I install a Java plugin then when I log onto chat Java is running like a program on my task bar. The problem with this is it causes Windows Media Viewer to lock up (I like to chat while I watch, err... WW2 documentaries).
Before I upgraded my OS from Win2000 to XP, Internet Explorer ran the chat program ok without me having to install a java plugin. I assumed it had it already. So now I try to enable Java (I've still got IE 6), I have a look in Advanced Internet Options and there's no Java box to put a tick in.
So if you can follow all that, how do I enable my browser to use the Java chat program without it running as a seperate application, thus causing WMV to lock up?
Ta very much.
