That's why I have such a problem with your own political beliefs and decisions, Frodo. Because I, too, am a Christian who has accepted Jesus Christ, and I find your views abhorrent.

If you really had read the words of Jesus Christ and believed in what He said, you would understand that your continual fawning praise of Donald Trump makes you a hypocrite- plain and simple. Because Trump's beliefs and actions are the antitheses of what Jesus Christ taught us. I fail to see why you cannot understand that, and it saddens me.

So, then if you are truly a Christian then you know that He is the only Way to heaven right? You know that the Republicans are more in line with Biblical principals. You should know that Trump's policies are spot on and the most pro Christian of any President in History.

Trump 2020!!!

Trump 2020!!!

You can't be serious.

Trump's tax policy has raised taxes on the lower and middle income class while giving tax cuts to the rich. He has also cut health care for millions, and for millions more, they now pay more in health care. EXPLAIN HOW THIS IS PRO-CHRISTIAN. Jesus said, blessed are the sick, and blessed are the poor. Quite the opposite of Trump. Jesus condemned the soulless accumulation of wealth and power, which Trump's policies are all about. Take from the poor, give to the rich. REAL CHRISTIAN THERE, RIGHT?? He has eliminated environmental regulations, things that protect the health and safety of our people, and the health of our planet. God has said men are to be the stewards of the earth. He has broken peace treaties and sought to ignite a war with Iran. Jesus condemned war. (Matt. 5-9) Do you think Jesus would condone these policies? Trump lies repeatedly, in every speech and in all he does. Maybe that's the problem, you believe his bullcrap. But do you condone adultery, because Trump is guilty there too. He has slandered war heroes and mocked those who have sacrificed for our country. He has sought to stock the courts with judges whose only interest is to help remove the checks on his power, and strip away at our civil liberties.

I could go on, but...
....you remind me of those so-called good Christians who cheered as Hitler rounded up the Jews and other political dissidents and crushed liberty in ww2-era Europe. Or, you remind me of the good, so-called God loving Pharisees who cried "Crucify Him! Relase Barrabus!" as Jesus himself was led to his death.

PRO-CHRISTIAN PRESIDENT MY ASS! I detest Trump because his policies are Satanic, and I dislike you because you claim to be a Christian but you seem to condone these type of Satanic policies. I don't think you are a real Christian. Your claim of salvation and faith are only empty words, and I believe your purpose here is NOT to spread faith as you claim but simply to troll the board under the guise of christianity, no better than verybusy and his army of alternate user names.

I will respond to this in my other thread. This thread is about How To Get To Heaven When You Die

^What the hell dude, Is that a guy fucking a leather sofa???

Jack Van Impe- he's that "The world's gonna end and I'm sooooo happy about it!" TV preacher guy, right? Yeah no tears will be shed over that- he made Christianity seem like some kind of doomsday cult. People like that only turn people off from religion. (just as much as those who say "Taking money from the poor to give to the rich, pardoning war criminals and throwing refugees in jail are 'Christian' politics."

He may not have been perfect but he led many a soul to Christ which was his primary purpose in life and his ministry. I didn't agree with everything he said, but he did a lot of great things. Souls for Christ is the goal and he won many to Christ. He was mentored by Billy Graham.

So the filthy conversation would be calling someone a poopyhead, rather than (for example) locker room banter that sexually objectifies and violates women?

And Jesus sounds like he was saying that peter swore more when he lied... If he'd commented that hhe could tell when Peter was lying because he always wrings his hands when he lies, would you interpret that as hand wringing being a sin? Seriously, it just says that he swore under stress.

I'm actually going to answer this because I did a vanity search and there is a real answer.

When the bible talks about swearing, it's talking about swearing an oath. It clearly outlines when you're supposed to do this- and I reckon the Jews still use those outlines, as do the legal systems in some countries that are based on scriptures, like places under Shaira Law.

When you swear an oath in that culture, you're swearing it either 1: By god (we still do this in court today, "I swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help me god." Here in the secular states. That's how ingrained this is.) or 2: On your life, which under these doctrines, isn't yours, you're renting it from god, so it still goes back to god.

And this goes back to the same thing cursing does. You're basically saying, "God's got my back."

Swearing outside of the rigid boundaries where it's said you can swear (like in a court of law) is the spiritual equivalency of "if you call me a liar my boyfriend will beat you up" with your boyfriend being god. And just like how god won't perform curses for you, he won't back you up when you try and start bullshit for no reason. If you just remember, "God ain't here for my petty human nonsense," you'll have a way easier time interpreting those verses. Because they are straight up spelled out. Like read it as a book, cover to cover and there's no ambiguity in this language thing.

This is part of what I was talking about, how people indoctrinate these kids on the kiddy bibles and then they never just sit down and read the bible cover to cover. That's presented as a holy historical record of god's chosen people. It's a sacred tome meant to be read straight through. You ain't supposed to flip through it like an US weekly. But they do, and if they're right about Jesus being a demigod who's gonna come back, he ain't gonna be happy that y'all are twisting his words exactly like he told them not to do. He said that he was coming back with a flaming sword and some choice words specifically for folks who do that shit.

Jesus, the fictional character who's likely an amalgamation of several different people, is himself, a cool dude. 10/10 would hang out with. But there are folks who claim to be his followers who somehow don't know shit about him or his dad.

Jesus, the Palestinian war refugee who led a non-violent protest against colonialism and imperialism is gonna walk in like, "I didn't fucking say that. They put everything my ass said in bright red. Look at that. There's no way you missed it if you opened the book! Oh y'all are not sellin shit in the church- I don't care how bad you wanna go to the creationist museum, did I fuckin stutter? You wanna see a bitch flip a table? You take this bake sell to the wal-mart parking lot like the good lord intended."

Trump would put baby Jesus and his teen mom who were fleeing war and prosecution in the middle east in a goddamn concentration camp.

That kind of shit is absolutely buckwild.

And I mean, I get that you're a Christian and you believe this shit whereas I only study it intellectually but that was a real prophecy, so that's like... weird kind of. I mean, it was predictable but credit where it's due he did get the false prophets leading the flock astray by twisting his words thing right. So good on him, for that one. He did call it.

Just out of curiosity and to talk, when did you become a Christian?

I became a Christian when I was 4. I made sure of my salvation at 12. I was raised in Church and God has been with me my whole life. I am not perfect and I did leave the Church for a while when I was younger due to legalistic Churches, but God taught me that I go to Church for Him and not the people. He spoke to me when I was 30 and it changed my life.

Thanks! I like to hear people's stories. I would be interested in your story at 30 but that may be too personal.

So you didn't read the book, I guess, because it specifically tells you not to do this, because that's the sin of vanity. If you don't agree with the church and go anyway, you're going to be seen, and you're a hypocrite. Book of Matt, 6:5

Read the whole book cover to cover. Jesus is real big on gatherings/churches/synagogues being gathering places for false prophets and just generally being bad for people if they're not run right and encourages people not to support them. If someone supports these institutions knowing that they're flawed, they're not a real follower of Christ, they're a follower of the crowd who's just going because they're vain and they want to show out how devote they're pretending to be in front of the rest of the flock.

That's why he just talked to people outside and shit. This criticism is also a big part of why established religious leaders were none too fond of him.

It's real weird that he would change his mind on such a fundamental part of his teachings and decide to just telepathically impart this information to you and no one else. Seems like something to be skeptical about.

Sorry xfrodo! I didn't mean to cause a stir. It is interesting to see the journey!

Yes I can tell you my story, but not all at once. Shall I start from the beginning?

This is my Testimony:

When I was very young my father started to attend church. One day, he was out hunting and a man started shooting at him for about a half hour. My dad returned fire but the man was using a .22 caliber which goes much farther than the bird shot that he had in his gun. Even so, my dad shot back to enable himself to get away. The next day my dad accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. I was about 2 at the time, and my dad took me and my family to church all my life. When I became a teenager we had moved to a new church where I didn't "fit in" with the kids. One thing that I noticed was that alot of small groups of people tend to "shut out" new comers. What ended up happening was that it drove me away from church and I started hanging around with un-believers and maybe people who say they believe in Christ, but didn't live the biblical life. I began to drift away from God when I was a teenager. I was not living the way that God wanted me to. When I was young, I could feel God's favor on me, because I tried to stand up for what was right. When I began to live in sin, I felt that favor turn into disapproval. I felt guilty all of the time for what I was doing. I didn't have peace with God. I met a girl when I was around 22 and wanted to marry her. I began to go back to church in an effort to get my life right with God. The problem was that I had already gotten my fiance' in the habit of going to the bars. She didn't want to quit. She began going with her "friends" and began cheating on me. I met a guy at the church who was supposed to be a sunday school teacher and he ended up sleeping with my ex-fiance. (Don't put your faith in man, only in God) I stayed at a house that the people said was possessed by demons (ghosts) I didn't really believe it but I did later. I was sleeping and very strange things would happen. I had Christian music on and every time that it would talk about Jesus Christ and the Cross or the blood, the tape player would shut off. Over and over this happened, something poked me through the mattress several times, the lights wouldn't come on. The guys family was NOT religious but they would tell me stories of things that had happened to them. I believe them. The daughter was literally pulled off her bed by these things...

To Be Continued...

Yes I did read the book and it's apparent that you either don't read it or you don't understand it. That's not what the Bible says and you can't trick me. I am not being vain by giving my testimony, I am giving God the Glory. Think what you want. You sound like the Pharisees that persecuted Jesus and the Disciples, looking for ANYTHING to pin on them.

Sorry xfrodo! I didn't mean to cause a stir. It is interesting to see the journey!

I am not afraid to cause a stir. And if my testimony causes a stir to the weak, then so be it. Candi is just looking for trouble. They are just looking for something to complain about or try to accuse me. Not afraid of them. I will be doing it in segments because it's kind of long.

Candi and I don't often agree on things because I, too, have found him to be mercilessly (and sometimes unfairly) critical.

But I think he nailed it with this quote here: "Trump would put baby Jesus and his teen mom who were fleeing war and prosecution in the middle east in a goddamn concentration camp."

And I think you should really reflect on this, because it is absolutely true.

You have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. That is good. But it is only a start. In the Bible, Jesus spells out how we are to live our lives, and how He wishes us to treat others. If you examine the words of Jesus even casually, you will see that our president, who you praise as so Godly and Christian, clearly does not do this- quite often he does the opposite. Be generous and kind to each other and to the less fortunate, be a good steward of the earth and it's people, do not seek to accumulate wealth, love each other and have compassion for each other. This is what Jesus preached.

Basically, I think you can be a better Christian than you are, if you open your heart instead of following a callous, power and wealth-hungry politician and hardening it instead.

No need to respond. Just...re-think your commitment to Jesus and what He stood for, in light of your controversial views.

Because frankly, We're about done here.

Well, I would highly disagree with your premise. Trump wouldn't do that to anyone. Our President is doing everything in his power to fix the US economy, help the rights of Christians, help the unborn, fighting our enemies, he defeated ISIS, he is protecting America against terrorists like Iran, I stand by what I said 100%. Trump has helped the poor, the poverty rate is at an all time low, the unemployment rate for minorities is at an all time low. The earth is doing fine under Trump, but we don't worship the earth. I think that you are full of hate for a great President probably the greatest in US history and it's a shame. Every policy that Trump implements is pro Christian, Everything Obama did was Anti Christian. I certainly hope you didn't think Obama was a good President. Go to my other thread if you want to discuss this. This thread is about How To Get To Heaven When You Die, not Trump.

I'm not changing my views because Trump's policies are pro Christian. Maybe you should rethink yours if you say you are pro Christian.

Because their idea of heaven is a @ucked-up place. There's no booze, no sex, no guns, no pets, and no NASCAR.

I believe there is booze in heaven. It's not a sin to drink only to get drunk. Guns? I wouldn't be surprised if there were. There are swords up there, why not guns? Pets, I believe do go to heaven. There will certainly be animals in heaven, why not pets? NASCAR in heaven? I am not sure, but I can tell you that whatever they DO have will be 1000x better.
