Interesting to see your veneration of medaevil Roman Catholic 'relics' Xfrodo. The Heilig bloed in Brugge has quite precisely similar authenticity. Like the shroud it has no provenance for the first 1150 years of its alleged history. But do you stand with your Catholic brothers in veneration of this and other relics?

If you research the issue you will find that there are literally thousands of relics in Catholic Churches, relics of JC, the BVM any saint ever named; rather less in Protestant churches but still plenty. They all have similar provenance 'discovered' usually between 700 and 1500 years after JC's death.

They all have the same purpose, to maximise the amount of cash which may be extracted from the gullible.

You switched from Peter to Paul, but I still would have had to ask the question. I can see how you would interpret it the way that you do. I tend to look at it that Paul is trying to teach people that in order to minister to someone and lead them to the Lord you have to know where they're at. You have to know where they're coming from. So in order to talk to a Jewish person about accepting Christ you have to realize what a Jewish person is dealing with. Same with gentiles. If you want to help someone that is weak you have to understand a little bit about what it's like to be weak.

This is why some of the best people to help in a crisis is someone who's been through it themselves.

Yes and no. I don't think Paul means pretending to be something you are not. I think he means putting yourself in the other persons shoes. To do that you have to understand their ways. Live like they live. I know what you are saying though. It is hard to get people to look beyond a label.
