Im a guy that would like to try wearing a womans skirt, but dont know how to measure myself up for buying one and wearing one, i know that women are a diffrent shape than us guys, but i would like to try a couple diffrent styles as well.

The styles i want to try are; short mini skirt, kinda like a school girls style, short tight and black. Id also like to try a knee length pinstripe buisness skirt style as well as they sound and look like fun to wear.

Im a 34" waist if that helps to mesure me up for a size.

Thanks again.

Hello :)

UK sizes are different from Yankeedoodledandy ones. One way to overcome your concerns about being able to try skirts on would be to use catalogue shopping - try here for some catalogues.

This chart may help. You said you have 34" waist, which is about a size 18. However your lack of hips may affect how the skirt stays on.

Enjoy

Hi,

In male mode I take a 34" waist size trousers. Being a little on the mature side I shop generally at Marks and Spencer. I have no problem fitting into a size 14 skirt or trousers.

I regularly shop in M&S in male mode buying clothes for Sally! No one really bothers. With M&S's exchange policy it is really no problem. Take them home and try them on. If they fit great! If they don't take it back and change it. Just make sure you keep the receipt and leave the label on!

I haven't yet tried using their changing rooms!

Good Luck

Sally xx

If your out buying skirts for yourself with a guy look, simply grab a few pairs of pants and take the whole thing into the changing room. Nobody will say anything because you have pants. ;)

Also good to say, grab the skirts first then wander over into the male pants section so the pants are on top and it looks like your going to try on the pants and the skirts are a gift for your girlfriend.

oh your sneaky you know that!

Watch the vanity sizing at better maker shops for mature women. As the wealthy creep up in size, they fudge the labels downward a little. A 14 in one shop might be a 16 in a young fashion line (if they carry size 16 at all of course..)

The way I handled this fitting issue (only about 9 months ago when I began dressing) was to go to a thrift store clearance rack and buy a bunch of different sizes without trying them on. I even had a stupid cover story I bored the clerk with about how we had impulsively driven here from out of town and found we didn't pack enough.

Now though I shop for me, or my wife and no one cares or looks. I am a little more stealthy when I take say, a prom dress in to the fitting room, but Ive done it on a busy Saturday and its a bit of a rush.

When I started I was wearing men's 33" waist but a bit of overhang tells me I was more like a 35" waist. I could wriggle into some size 14's but not others.

Now I am back down to the girly frame I used to get teased about when I was young and can fit into much smaller clothes...the clothes get cuter below a size 8.:)
