Thanks for the replies everyone, has definatly helped my confidence though I dont think its quite were it should be, I did start to talk to her but a little to late, she had to get off soon after..will be talking to her more tommorow!

Honey, thats how it starts... just be yourself. Just think about the fact that you are making a new friend and enjoy yourself. If it does not happen with this young lady, you have learned some valuable lessons that you will carry over to the next young lady you encounter... cause remember a girl has friends, and those friends have friends.
