How to get a fake email

Good afternoon,
I have to take care of something and I would prefer to use a fake email addy.
Been years since I've been tech wise, I cant recall the names of any. Could anyone help me out here?

It’s pretty easy to create a Yahoo or Gmail email account. You will need to verify the email with a phone number or alternate email, so you will need to supply some information. Be careful about using your real name when creating the account. I did that when I made an email account to talk to someone from Lit. As soon as he emailed me and I saw that I had an email from “John Doe” I realized that I just gave a stranger my first and last name.

Yahoo keeps bugging me for a mobile phone number. They do provide a link to remind me later though.

Its really easy to setup an e-mail alias (like the first reply I would suggest gmail or yahoo), and is just a sensible thing for ANYBODY to do. We all have the right to some anonymity on the internet, but our primary e-mail is used for so many important registrations related to things in the real world. Receiving e-mail to your primary account will send alerts to your phone and other devices, and is more likely to get seen by other members of your household.

It is a great idea to have a 'dirty email' for signing up to adult sites etc, or even for buying gifts for your partner on ebay (in my house, many gifts have been spoiled because of order confirmations and targeted advertising). I have 3 gmail accounts and using google chrome as my browser I can easily switch between them. That also beats using incognito all the time if you aren't so much wanting to forget your browsing history as you are not wanting it to pop up when your 6 year old niece uses your computer. Another reason to do this is that some sites you give a dodgy e-mail to might be kind of dodgy sites, worst case scenario they sell your personal information or get hacked. But that doesn't matter, because you don't have any real personal information on your dirty account.

Btw, my dirty gmail account does NOT have a phone number on it, so unless google changed something, you don't HAVE to put that in.

If you really want to remain anonymous, create a fake email account using a fake name, with a foreign email service like Yandex, (Russian email in English), then when you are done with it, delete the account. Yandex, (like many foreign email services), don't require a phone number or a credit card number. However, I also would suggest you don't do anything stupid like making a terrorist threat. Yandex, like every other email service, keeps your IP address for a time, at least until it's overwritten by their servers. If you do something stupid and illegal, you could still fine the authorities knocking on your door.

Well, if you use a public VPN you won't have a problem with IP addresses. Or if you Opera, as it has its own VPN you'll be in the clear. And if you use a proxy server in front of the VPN, now your doubly safe.
