Stigmata is more prevalent among women then men.

Possibly, since the phenomena of stigmata itself was more common back in the days before birth control, when women presumably gave more hand jobs, it would provide both extra lubrication from an evolutionary viewpoint, and add the right touch of martyrdom from a social/religious one.
