Read more on the flesh peddling of woman in the former Soviet Republics. This is no joke. If that doesn't move you, then you have no mass.

I know. It's sad, isn't it. The balkans too.

A lot of S.E Asian country as well.

Not to mention Africa and S. America...

It makes me sick. But what can we do about it?
Major attitude change by men?

You and me. That's two.

Baby steps...

I don't see how reading about slavery would make me want to come to Lit less or dampen my desires.

We never agree on anything.

I think we agreed on something.. once.

(This is the point where you tell me we did not and we argue about it. :p)

I agree that it is a sick fare, but I think people are sick, so what can be done?

Men are sick, women are sick, dogs and cats are sick because of our sickness, and in the end, it's all just for sick kicks.

I think I'll go rub one off for world peace.

Is this where I'm supposed to convince you otherwise Never? I was stating my opinion on how I felt. The idea of women being abused by men in that way makes me question my attitude towards women. Do I somehow contribute to the overall scheme? That is what I wonder and I believe it may be true.

Yes, if you feel obliged to do so. I don’t think that’s the best attitude to have in regards to forum interaction though.

Why do you believe it may be true?

I don't think you even need to be abusive. It all comes down to how society views woman in general. I can't control the big picture, but it does all add up eventually. So I ask myself what I could I do, to change things.

The slipper.....answering that question isn't even half as terrifying as what it measn if it is, "yes".

Never, I tried to capture what I was thinking in my last post. I'd like to discuss this further, but I have to sign off for a while.

What about the kidnapping of women in China for sale as brides? There are lots of issues out there if we care to look for it.

Maybe go to amnesty international's website? Write to your premier (OR member of congress in the US?). Write a letter to the editor in your paper. Talk to your friends about it. Raise other's awareness.

Being aware of the problem means you've moved one step closer in the direction of solving it then you have to contributing to it.

Simply because you have definitive "feelings" on gender roles doesn't mean you're contributing to an abuse of power over women.
