Hi :)

I’m trying to reach out to the site admin. I’m reading lots of posts saying to message a certain “Laurel”. But how do I reach her profile to send her a private message? Do I just type in her name and select the only profile with the username Laurel? Apologies if this sounds redundant 😂 I’m just incredibly confused by the layout of the site.

Thank you so much! Have you sent a PM to her before? What are the chances of her replying? If it’s just her and one other person viewing messages, they must be swamped 😂

Probably low, but I'm sure it depends a lot on what exactly the content of your message is.
My submission was rejected due to claims of AI, despite writing and editing my work entirely on my own 😢 I did not use AI at all. This includes editing softwares like grammarly or chatGPT. I didn’t even have my story peer reviewed, so there’s no chance of AI being snuck into it without my knowing. I was told to revise before re-submitting, but I have no idea what needs to be changed in order to be deemed “not AI” if it was all originally written by me 😭

The best way to handle this is to re-submit your story, without any changes, and put your message to Laurel in the Notes field on the submission form. State that you didn't use any AI and got hit with a false-positive, and ask for a manual review of the story for publishing approval.

A PM is very unlikely to get you anywhere. So, just put the story right in her lap again by resubmitting it, and attach that statement to it so she can't miss it.

Sounds like whoever told you this didn't believe you didn't use AI, because that advice only makes sense if you did.

Ugh, I hate how you can’t delete comments 😂 I accidentally posted a reply as a stand alone comment.

In the mod message I got, it mentioned to revise before resubmitting. I don’t think it was a personal reply but rather a premade template automatically sent. But thanks so much for your advice ☺️ I did re-submit it with no changes and pleaded my case, but also wanted to PM her directly just in case she doesn’t review submissions manually and they all just go through a que to be revised by their detection software.
