What is the a decent rate to pay to have a story commissioned? Ive got a few ideas, but it would be nice to reward a good author who can overcome writers block and allow feedback and some editorial if needed.

Are you looking for something that will get sold? Or for your own use?

If it's something to be sold - aka self publish thru Amazon for example - a percentage of sales would be my guess.

For your own use? Who retains copyright would be key to the discussion.

As something to be ghostwritten? Depends I supposed.

I've got stuff here, if it looks like a style you like then PM me and we can discuss further.

it something for own use as a private short story commission not intended for publication unless the author wants to after all. Maybe im not describing myself properly, but I was checking if someone was avialable to write chapter by chapter on request. since it dosnt look like anyone takes my ideas up in the past, I am willing to compensate with a small commission.

Well I'm curious too, but let's keep this transparent. Share your idea please.

The length of the work has to come into play as well without knowing about how long your talking it's impossible to know. And how picky you're gonna be about quality. (Not saying you shouldn't be picky, just saying there is a difference between something spat out in an afternoon or even a week and something that gets sent to two separate editors to make sure there it all hangs together proper.)

I can understand not wanting to post a lot - but maybe just a thumbnail sketch of a storyline?

The problem is without having any kind of idea of scope...

May I suggest that you find an author whose work you like and send him/her a PM.

Find an author you like and make them an offer. Pay half up front and the other half when they are done. There are authors that would probably do it for as little as $25 if it's not too long or involved. I'd say "you get what you pay for," except there are plenty of authors who don't place much value on their writing and will write up a hell of a story for you for little dollars.

The other option would be to check out the fivver website and find authors there, too.
