very interesting
but before JK Rowling the fantasy genre for kids was largely dead. She was successful because she broke the rules. If I wanted success in the children's genre I would ignore those suggestions and write about a monkey. Yeah, a monkey who does ordinary things like go to the doctor or the circus. And he would have a single care taker. He'd be inquisitive as hell, and that would always get him in trouble. And, and I'd name him... George. Yeah that's IT. Wait a minute...
