How the Republican Party establishment can steal the nomination from Donald Trump
Tromp has a minimal ground operation. His people won't be allowed to write rules or control delegates. The party can do what it wants. Will his followers then burn down the convention hall? Will Cleveland-2016 make CHicago-1968 look tame?"This isn't constitutional law", Wead said. "This is the private country club called the Grand Old Party and it writes its own rules."
The question of the moment is how those rules could be bent to deny the Donald the nomination.
Wead listed 15 dirty tricks the party could try in a blog post headlined "How the Establishment Will Now Try to Steal the Nomination from Donald Trump".
Included is an effort to eliminate that eight-state threshold for getting nominated. That worked for the establishment last time, but at the moment only Trump has a majority of delegates in more than eight states.
But the most important item on Wead's list is "Make sure that you have your own people chosen as delegates to the convention."
