How often does Google Maps update its satellite photos?

Just wondering. There's a big condo building near my office in downtown Tampa that has been under construction for at least a year, probably two, now almost complete, but Google still shows a vacant lot there.

I'm waiting for that hottie sunbathing on the roof to turn over.

Ha! I notice this often, it's hilarious.

Several restaurants & storefronts in the city that were built or came up in recent years here show up on G-Maps as what was there before and sometimes even from before before.

With regard to restaurants in particular, the biz in this city is almost impossible to maintain without active clientele and it's not unusual for them to close and flip within even six months of opening if they're not a hit, so it's common to see phantoms from yore when in satellite or street view mode.
