With me it's a utility thing. If you're going to be sitting on the floor and carrying kids and bending over to talk to them, check their work, play with them, all of that teachery stuff, underwear are a lot more comfortable than going bare. I speak from experience. Plus, what I'm wearing right now varies between black and white bottoms.
And you don't want to just be wearing pants when out on outside duty. I'll take as many layers then as I can get, thank you.
When I'm at home, unless I'm on my period, it's take it or leave it, I don't care. And I'll run out on a quick trip without 'em. But I wear them everyday.

Yep, this is me too. I feel the need to wear them with pants. WIth some pants I wear thongs because they are more comfortable. I rarely wear panties with skirts or dresses.
