Just wondering on how much money everyone spent on christmas presents this year, be kinda interesting to see and read about it.

I spent entirely too much - but I love the looks on my family members' faces when they get just what they wanted!

They can all thank my Macy's and Sears cards. Heh.

Me personally I think I spent around $250 mostly for my Gramma and 50 for my dad and family.

I spent WAY too much. Spent 650.00 on my 6 year old, 300.00 on my youngest son, 1500.00 on my hubby, and 75.00 a piece on 11 others. ouch!

I couldnt do what i normally do, and thats spend a whole paycheck on friends and family..

so this year i sent cards to those who are far away, made my own gifts for those who live near by, and felt blessed to have my own true love beside me.

Holy crap, you must be loaded.

It's kinda funny to see the difference in attitudes between those who aren't too many years removed from believing in Santa Claus, and those who have spent several years actually being Santa Claus.

Christmas is damn expensive when you've got a family. The trick is trying to make each year as good as the last without making each one bigger and too much more expensive.

What do you mean by "...removed from believing in Santa Claus..."?

:D

Rasta - Where's my Lexus?

This was cheapie year for me. Hopefully i'll have more to splurge next year.

And on a side note, I refuse to put myself into hock for a holiday, I don't care how happy it would make anyone.

I didn't do anything insane - I'll just be making payments on their presents for the next few months. Heh.

I have a buy it at once or you don't need it policy. It's left me in good stead finacially.

Mine's kinda hard to figure since I made everything. I figure supplies, canning stuff, salts, frangrances...mebbe a bit over $100, total. Not including postage. Postage is gonna bury me, though! lol

Share the wealth with your friends here on LIT. :D

I'm not loaded...

I just do what I can for my family. We budget 75.00 per person, except on our kids, and eachother (meaning myself and hubby).

Don't watch Lexus commercials for ideas. NOBODY really does that.

My dad did! Not for me, of course. It was for my step-bitch. He did it for her last year and now he drives around her crappy old car because the Lexus is "hers".

He should just buy himself one too!

Actually, if you take savings and credit into account, and if they are the type that starts early in the year, I can see it.

You guys certainly aren't hurting though if you can afford that without royally screwing yourself.

For some people, it's not that everyone gets such lavish gifts, but that there are so many people to shop for. My grandparents have well over 50 individuals to buy for after all siblings, kids, children in law, grandkids, grandchildren in law, and great grandkids are taken into account.

My wife and I spent about 1,500 for the kids, and about 1,000 for the rest of the family.

I spent enough to make the recipents happy, but not enough that it broke my bank. :)

I spent exactly $0.00.

Kinda hard to buy anything when you're flat broke. Besides which, I don't celebrate Christmas.

I am usually a big X-mas pressie spender but this year I spent about $20 per person (co-workers). Except for the mgrs at my part time job, I spent more on them.

I forgot to buy a gift for 1 person, my bad I did my count wrong.

Still need to give 4 more pressie out, I didn't get to see them before X-mas. One gift hasn't arrived yet.

So grand total is about in the 300 or 400 for pressie.
