How much is gasoline where you live?

$2.79 - $2.98 for regular unleaded, depending on where you buy it.

(Which is flipping insane, given that I live in TEXAS.)

I'll have to check...haven't looked for awhile since I'm rarely with him when he fills up, and we don't pay for it anyway.

$3.29 at the moment...it seems to change second to second *grumble*
This has been happening here as well. There's a Citgo station across the street from my office and I saw the price there jump $.08 the other day between early morning and lunch time. Since our prices are today about where they were at the height of the summer price spike last year, I'm expecting to see $4.00/gallon within a few months.

It was 3.02 where I filled my can today. I was walking and didn't want to cross a 5 lane highway to save a dime.

I've always been curious about the variation in gas prices from one area to another. Certainly there is a role that local and state taxes pay in the differentials that we see and then there are some differences due to local requirements (presumably this accounts for some of the differential in California, for example). Does anyone have a good link at hand that would show what the untaxed price would be in various places around the country? This would reveal differences due to proximity to production fields as well, I should think.

6.80 at the station I use.
6.66 is the cheapest I could find.

Without tax the price is 2.56.

(All prices in usd/gallon using todays exchange rate.)

3.53/gallon for regular (hitting 20 cents more if in the city).

Between $2.92 and $3.01 as of about 10 minutes ago. I think I'm going to go get my big old Mack truck of a horse and my wee-bitty cart and start offering a taxi service! :D

I haven't been out today to see, but yesterday just across the border in SC, it was $2.78 a gallon for regular unleaded. Thanks to the taxes in NC, it's about 10¢ a gallon more.

I guess I'm going to have to start riding my bike or either walking. 3.01 is too high! And I believe it is only going to get higher! *rolls eyes*

The Texas Senate apparently passed a bill last week to drop the .20/gal state tax on gas (for the summer). It still has to pass through all the legislative bodies/be signed by the govenor, but it would be loverly if it actually happened.

The station closest to me sometimes adjusts prices hourly... $2.80 in the morning, $2.83 by noon, $2.87 by 5pm, then back down to $2.83 the next day, stabilize for a few days, back up to $2.89, down to $2.86... sigh.

$2.99 here - I'm sure it's closer to $3.25 near D.C. though. Can't wait to start that new commute of mine on Monday.

You guys in the US are lucky.

yeah isn't it funny how much we complain when we have to spend an extra fifty cents a gallon?

I think it was 3.29 when we filled up last - but in some places I've seen it up to 3.49.

I hear it's at $4 a gallon in San Francisco.

Actually if we had to pay what the folks in Europe paid, maybe we would back the hell up and actually look at our driving habits, our choice in gas guzzling transportation, be a bit further along in actually using public transportation (and insisting on a better public transpo system), and be vocalizing the need for alternative sources besides making the oil companies BIG bucks. We really suck in comparison to the other countries. Sad that we are sitting here bitching about what we are paying but yet per gallon we are still paying less for our gas than our damn starbucks.

When I looked this morning it was 3.49$ a gallon and only looking to go higher because apparently the start of the summer is the perfect fucking time to close down two refineries for upgrades and maintenance.
