Madame

thats the only respecatable one I think of - elite and powerful. Mistress and Miss is mundane to me, cliche' - though I know there is also Goddess - princess (GAG). What are the terms for men? Mister? Master? What else?

More simply: What are addresses beyond what I have articulated - for both men and women in a dom/Domme vs. sub relationship?

Mister isn't really a male Dom term.

Sir, however, is.

So, I'd guess Sir and Master are the first two that spring to mind. Some Doms I know, especially the more fantasy-orientated ones, like M'Lord, as it fits with a medieval fantasy settings. Can't think of any more off the top of my head.

Personally, I'm partial to being called Sir in that situation, although no punishment is administered for using Master instead.

This may be no help at all, but here are a few random tidbits. :D

Dominatrix - (or Domme or Domina) are the terms most often used in a bdsm context to describe a female who enjoys exercising power and control over others.

Master - the Oxford English Dictionary describes a 'master' as 'a person who has dominance over others' or 'a skilled practitioner of a particular art'. Those two concepts, dominance and skill, are brought together in the use of the word 'Master' in a bdsm context. The title may sometimes be used within a D/s relationship as a loving tribute by a submissive to the skill of her partner or it may define a relationship in which the submissive sees herself as a 'slave' who is owned by her 'master'. Essentially though the word describes how someone else regards you, not how you regard yourself.

Mistress - a female dominant

Mommy - a dominant, usually but not always female, who adopts a maternal role when relating to a submissive.

Does this mean I shouldn't make the old joke about a Mistress being someone who comes between a Mister and his Matress?

What if the sub thinks that's a silly way of addressing someone? ;)

As is said above, "the word describes how someone else regards you, not how you regard yourself."

*inclines his head*.. Point taken. But now we're getting into the very fine lines and unspoken rules of the relationship between a sub and his/her dom. Each sub/dom relationship is different and people do whatever they find works for them.

I asked this question on BDSM - so don't worry - fool as you will, the original ??? was: What are MORE terms to address a Dom/Domme than the ones mentioned already, here.
