How many channels are needed to broadcast 1 baseball game

I have basic cable, which consists of 28 channels 9 of those are brodacsting the exact smae baseball game. Imean I could understand if they used different people to comment on it but its the same commentors and the same game. Isn't it a bit ridiculous the over kill?
