How many alphabets or writing systems can you read?

I learned the Latin alphabet as my first reading /writing system since I 'm a native English speaker. I learned to read Cyrillic when I took Russian in college.

A few weeks ago I was bored and finally committed to learning to read the Greek alphabet (not the language just the alphabet). It took me only a few hours. While there are still a few letters that trip me up like the lower case u and the upper case N, etc, I actually find it easier than Cyrillic in many ways. Its easier on the eyes than Cyrillic, almost hypnotic in some ways.

Now I want to learn as many writing systems as possible. I'm thinking about Armenian next which is supposedly derived from Greek, then maybe branch out into some of the Indian abujas or Hebrew.

The cool thing is you don't need to speak the language to read the words.

Does anyone else have this interest?

Many years ago through a series of improbable events, I spent a summer week with a Cambodian family in Tacoma. On Saturday morning the kids went to school to learn to read and Cambodian ideograms, so I went with them and learned the pronunciations (which I have since forgotte) It was interesting how dramatically different it is then ours.

I'm rusty, but I read and write mathematics.
