How many AH'ers

This question has come up, so I decided to count the horse's teeth.

I looked at the number of unique commenters during November thus far at ten long running threads that were on the first page of AH earlier today.

169 of us have commented on those threads. I can think of a few people who were not in that selection. Given the random selection of threads, people who may be temporarily away, etc. I would guess 200 is the number of people who comment. Many people lurk. I have no way to reasonable estimate that.

I may go see how many stories that 169 people have written.

My guess is that in a given year, the publishing authors amount to something like a few thousand people who written more than one story.

AH is certainly not the majority of all authors, but we are not a trivial percentage of the writing either.

There are AH-ers who appear and disappear for a while every now and then. When it comes to regular, active AH-ers, I'd estimate the number to be somewhere between 50 and 100. We're a relatively small non-community.

I'm just arguing that our sensibilities of how well this site works (or doesn't) for authors is meaningful and should be taken seriously by @Laurel and @Manu, which not all buy.

Not that I expect any action on any of our points.

Not suggesting you run these numbers, but I'd be curious to know the breakdown of profilicness (prolificity? prolificusion? fecundity!) on average. How many nutballs* there are around here who crank out dozens of stories a year, versus the comparative sloths like myself who are dragging down the average with our lonely few stories.

* I use the term with the utmost admiration and affection

I'm not sure what the objective of this thread is.

I have 29 stories published on Literotica, with one currently pending. Certainly not all that I have published, but those works that align with the site policies and audience as a whole.

I view a lot of the threads, but typically only contribute if I believe that I have something worth sharing or it is on a subject that interests me.

I'm not sure what the objective of this thread is.

I have seen multiple threads assert that we have "a few dozen authors here" with the follow on that we are an insignificant part of the authors in general. I wanted to give some real data (or as close to real data as was easy to obtain).
