How long is normal to wait?

I contacted a volunteer editor about a month ago, maybe more now, and they agreed to look at a scene of mine. I was just wondering how long is normal to wait to get something back? I got worried that maybe they had changed their mind because of some of the content (nothing really bad, but in retrospect I realized might be pushing certain legal limits), and emailed them just to check but haven't gotten a reply yet.
I'm not to concerned, just unsure of how long is normal to wait. I understand people are busy and its volunteer stuff. I don't mind editing out the content I was uncertain about. It's nothing important to the story. I'm just anxious for some feed back, since I've only started writing again recently and, yeah. Heh. Also I have a lot more I've written since it would be nice to have someone look at. Eventually I'd like to actually submit something for the site. Gotta get the guts first. Heh.

There really isn't any such thing as a "normal" turnaround time but a month is way too long, especially since your follow-up e-mail was also ignored. I'd definitely look elsewhere if I were you. Luckily, there are some excellent editors in this forum, along with a few turkeys.
